Principal Logistics Technologies commenced business in 1991. The company was formed by accomplished software engineer, and Warehousing and Supply Chain business expert, Peter Flanagan. The company has grown to almost 80 staff based in Dublin, Ireland and in Manchester, UK.
Our sole focus is in improving operational performance for Warehouses and Supply Chain businesses. We designed, and globally patented, the ProWMS Warehouse Management Software suite, which enables reduction in our customer’s OpEx with a positive impact on Return on Investment.
The company’s primary focus is software innovation, with a constant eye on the marketplace, engineering and design trends. We ensure a key competitive client advantage via fast and efficient deployment of our software systems to a high standard and with minimum disruption to existing client business operations.
A key concentration in our product design is enabling our software to operate seamlessly with the latest voice and mobile technology for fast and efficient RF barcode scanning, stock picking, track and trace, stock accuracy, stock monitoring & reporting and automation.
A typical success story is in optimising a leading dairy client’s large warehouse item picking operation to run faster and more efficiently. We eliminated the time wasted by the pick operators physically putting down and picking up their hand-held data capture terminals (HHTs) when reviewing the next line item to pick. This resulted in significant pick face process optimisation with a highly favourable 28%+ uplift in pick rates. This Opex reduction. in turn. increased the client’s revenue.
We also embrace more complex 3PL and Supply Chain business warehouse operations like 3PL Chemicals. In the case of one long-term customer, we manage its customer’s just-in-time logistics; interfaces to its SAPR3 & ERP forecasting applications; and its Web front-end for its supplier vendor managed inventory.
